There are
many Green Rating System implemented in Malaysia, however currently,
there are three Malaysia Local Green Building rating system:-
- Green Building Index by Green Building Sdn Bhd
- GreenPASS by CIDB
- pHJKR ( Penarafan Hijau JKR)
Green PASS is founded on the principle that a model standard must
address building performance beyond those captured by rating systems or
other evaluation guides, and therefore, it shall be usable,
adoptable and stringent in making it an effective system for the
construction industry.

GreenPASS
Green
Performance Assessment System in Construction (abbreviated Green PASS)
is designed to meet these needs through standard conformance that
promote sustainable construction in an integrated manner with
other Construction Industry Standard (CIS). It is an independent
construction standard that assesses and rates the impact of building
construction upon the environment.
Penarafan Hijau JKR (pHJKR)
Kriteria
Perancangan & Pengurusan Tapak Lestari (TL), Kriteria Pengurusan
Sumber & Bahan (SB), Kriteria Kecekapan Tenaga (KT), Kriteria
Pengurusan Kualiti Persekitaran Dalaman (PD), Kriteria Pengurusan
Kecekapan Penggunaan Air (PA), Kriteria Sustainble Site Planning and
Management (SM), Kriteria Environment & Water (EW), Kriteria Access
& Equity (AE), Kriteria Construction Activities (CA), Kriteria
Material & Resourse (MR) dan Kriteria Pavement Technologies (PT).
GBI is private driven & initiative. The first local GB rating system. Applied about the same style as LEED from US. According to GBI, they stated the 100 points rating earlier than LEED. More focus to Energy Efficient.
pHJKR currently apply for JKR and government building. The rating system is about the same with LEED, GBI style.
GreenPASS - standardized all green requirements to CO2 unit. Support PM commitment to reduce 40% carbon emission by 2020. It is an innovation in green building rating system. CIDB have done a comprehensive research and presented for comment from the world GB specialists.
